Stranger

Evil people say they're not to deceive you
They think I trust them such blind fools
Watch who you call your people
They only hang around when they need to
Who can you trust in this very dirty nation
I trust no one
My trust took a vacation
Honor before money
Get education
Death to all strangers no hesitation
Never share your plans with a stranger
Them cutthroats hear your plans you in danger
To me a stranger is a strange person
Who wants to make your moves before you
And say they planned it
So you must keep your brain workin
Because your right-hand man and a stranger can be the same person

My Secrets, Not Yours, To Be Told

You betrayed my trust
I should have been more perceptive
For it was already broken once

I was warned: don't trust that girl
I should have known
you couldn't be told

Why can't I keep quiet
All the things of passion in my heart
More discerning
Guarded
Not bursting forth as a fountain

I look you in the eye
Deception reflecting from yours, in min
Iced over
Numb & cold
Can't believe what you did
Not only once, but twice

It wasn't your secret to be told
You didn't care enough
And it easily slipped right out
Those were my secrets,
Not yours, to be told

Not everyone is as cruel as you
Leaking out secrets
That were better to be kept
From you altogether
So many things I've learned the hard way

Others know you as a gossip mill
While telling another's secret
But never your own
Oh no
You keep those locked up
Because you trust no one else
For you see no better in another
As you know of yourself

Can I forgive you?
Maybe
But forget?
I truly don't know
Because those were my secrets,
Not yours,
To be told

Do You Trust Me

Do you trust me
To lie on a bed of nails
Or swim with the weight of the world
One your shoulders next to sharks?
Do you trust me
To lie on railroad tracks
Or jump off a cliff so tall
And land in my arms?
Do you trust me
To jump into a cage at the zoo
Or race a train next to me
On the tracks before it?
Do you trust me
To fly on planes wings
Or let me carry you
Up the steepest mountain?
Do you trust me
To be there for you
Through the hardest times
Do you trust me?

Trust

Trusting in your friends or strangers are totally different things.
Strangers have no problem walking out.
Friends are suppose to stick around.
When you need your friends the most,
they are no where to be found.
I ask myself why let anyone in?
Slipping up and tell some but no one knows all the things
Why take the chance again?
Why trust when it hurts too much in the end?
All the promises broken just don't seem worth it again.
Safer to trust only yourself.
Is it so wrong for not wanting to come out?
The world around us is cold and cruel,
learning this on my own,
I have decided now I will trust myself on my journey home.
