Best Forgivenessnight Poems
Light flickers from a candle sweet scent subtle in the air
Eyes swollen from a sleepless night still linger there
Shadows dance on the wall from the candles flickering flame
Wondering now if her life will ever be the same
Thoughts impossible to gather in her foggy mind
Muddled memories desperate to leave behind
Forgotten images now linger in the days new light
Old dreams reoccurring causing the sleepless night
Will those dreams of that night forever last
Why is there no freedom from memories past
It seems the reality will always be there to see
Will only forgiveness be what sets her free
A Long Night
Walking down by the water’s edge,
I sense the lingering crush of emotion.
With each footstep my heart begins to beg,
Raging against me like a powerful ocean.
Tossing and turning inside my mind,
It fills up with so much static.
Wanting nothing more than for my light to shine,
My body starts shaking in withdraws like an addict.
Sweat wells on my cold forehead,
It makes my body tingle,
Did I say all I should have said?
Our words flowed like strangers trying to mingle.
Laughter feels absent within these walls,
The living has gone without a thought.
Shouting in the night and waiting for a return call,
This long night alone for us was for naught…
