Road Under Construction

Down this road I ride
on four good tires:
Trust, Hope, Faith, Love ...
a work in progress
travelin' on.

My temperment changes
might buckle the road:
Resentment, Anger, Lust, Fear ...
carryin' too heavy a load
to travel on.

Potholes and detours
I may find on the way:
Pride, Greed, Envy, Jealousy ...
will lead me astray
but I'll pray to travel on.

Its a good thing
to obey the signs I see:
Stop, Slow, No U Turn ...
on this wonderful journey
I'll keep travelin' on.

And at the end
when I arrive at my destiny,
I'll be able to see
a sign that will say:
End of Divided Highway.
