Nearing Knell

As my wife lay with eyes closed in her last hours, not a word spoken, but tears
ran that told me she heard and could think.....I wiped her tears with a tissue.
The below is not for the speed reader who mistakes it for rambling, but my care
of choosing thought I will always remember.

I heard what I heard
Upon my desperate ear
Of tears that flowed
In silent pound
That rippled and ran
As wine flowing near
The sweetest tears
Of heart in sound

I answered within
No other could hear
Echoed my tears
As wine round in run
I heard what I heard
A knell was clear
That morrow will sound
A silence of sun
