The Pink Cake

the trembling cake, pink in icing and velvet in thought and color.i wish a tv that was turned
off had this color on the screen.the feeling that i get is the fish swim different on your
birthday, like its being acknowledged or something.the man leans forward to blow out candles
on his pink cake, not me but the man.the trembling cake,it did not do its job at publix where
the nice lady made it,she just pranced around and wondered if it was to be sold.so it ended
up here,on his table.the icing on the fringe had become a little hardened by the air and the
center seemed to be collapsing like some kind of blackhole.there is a mirror facing the table
and this mirror records the man, leaning forward, about to blow out candles, sucking in all the
joy there is from buying himself a birthday cake and celebrating alone.this is the year that
the christmas tree would come up.this is the year that candles would go in the window.this is
the year that he would buy a cat.a fat grey cat.one that would perch itself in the window seal.

todays my birthday, thought i would write a poem.
