A Little Boy Cries

A Little Boy Cries

In a corner of the woods
A little boy cries
Head on his knees
He coves up his eyes

Lost and confused
He tries to manage a smile
But with the news he got
He doesn’t know how

Seems his father up and left
And forever went away
Leaving him and his mother
Without a word to say

After years of lies
He finally told the truth
He didn’t want to be tied down
He wanted to live his youth

Than in a moment three young lives
Were suddenly forever changed
All the dreams they had
Were forever rearranged

The father went one way
To manage on his own
The two left behind
Struggled to unite a divided home

When things got too rough
His momma would seem oh so sad
At times it would seemed
Hope was all they had

But through the grace of God
They made it on their own
With a lot of hard work
And a high interest loan

Years went slowly by
Like a turn of a page
Now that little boy
Is nineteen years of age

But every now and then
That boy wants to cry
When he watches his mother
Still struggle to get by

Growing up without a dad
Sure has took a mighty toll
At times he strongly thinks
It was ripped out his soul

But despite his heartbreaking loss
He’s determined to not give in
To the lack of self confidence
That nags him now and then

This once desperate little boy
Has grown-up to be a man
Learning from his fathers mistakes
He vowed to make a stand

But alone in the dark
He still feels so weak
And after all of these years
His eyes still spring a leak

At times he still wishes
He could open wings and fly
To a different land
Beneath the golden sky

Where his pain and suffering
Would magically be gone
And hope and happiness
Would be rising with the dawn

This little boy of nineteen
At times still needs to hide
So I tell him to go feely
And spread his wings wide

Fly away oh so freely
Fly away towards the sun
Fly away in an instant
Fly away my beautiful son

A Christmas Child

A child born on this day.
In a manger filled with hay.
Animals are there to witness his birth.
They brought as a gift of jasmine, mirth.
The north star shines so bright.
To guide 3 wise men in at night.
Joseph and Mary his father and mother.
Raise him to be like no other.
They taught him honesty, careing and love.
Like our Heavenly Father from above.
A child of God was born on this day.
His life will show us the way.
