Best Black African Amerchange Poems

Nameless

They've called us by so many names,
And every 20 years they change,
Still running from the days before,
Like iron chains still drag ashore...
Though not by anyones free will,
When begged the Lord would come and
steal,
The parts of them they left behind,
But never equal in their minds...
What's hard for them to understand,
Our claim to fame came by their hand,
Not once aware of what they reap,
From fathers hands to son he keeps....
So was the price of sins before,
Hence generations to their shore,
To change a name for breed of best,
And leave the slain too weak to rest..
Though nameless as the change it be,
We've strengthened our genetic tree,
To bend the breeze and one day stand,
And finally trace one name in sand...
