If-----The-----Truth----Be-----Bold

IF THE TRUTH BE BOLD

Whilst you slept upon my pillow soft
I imagined angels above your head aloft
Whilst you slept dream I did not
Mine eyes and mind had a divergent plot

There lay you on feathered down
And all be missing was a crown
A sign to signify royalty on my bed
While my eyes and mind heeded my head

It wasn’t so much a foreboding feeling
Nor the queen before whom I was kneeling
It was simply pity that played its part
As I pitied the woman’s wayward heart

The two of us who once were one
Knew the music was gone and the band was done
To dance no more while anger prevails
Or at least to dance on a thousand nails

I became mean and your anger met mine
Then, weariness weakened your stoic spine
We treated each other without respect or concern
And that’s when the fire’s of Hell began to burn

You became evil with a heart discontent
And in the center of Hell is where you pay your rent
Of Satan’s ten million daughters you are just one
But what you didn’t know is that I am Satan’s only son
