REINDEER IN THE RAIN
Merry Christmas my sweet, I sent you this gift of a kiss
A loving gesture for a man you must not even miss
They forecasted rain for today but that was only my tears
Because we were supposed to be together for a thousand years
Merry Christmas dear, here’s a little bit of the ache in my heart
I gift it to you and only you because you broke Christmas apart
Santa’s elves couldn’t do their job because they were busy weeping for me
And the sorrow I feel due to the heartache you’re heaping upon me
You decided to leave right before Santa was ready to go
And now due to you Rudolph’s nose won’t even glow
While all the other reindeer refused to guide Santa’s sleigh tonight
Because you, my love, are not with me to make Christmas bright
I thank the reindeer for their gesture of caring for me
And as for the sweet little elves I thank them heartily
You know………. something tells me Christmas isn’t a time to grieve
But I just can’t forgive you for the way you took your leave
