Best Allegoryhouse Poems
There high on an outcrop of sun bleached rock
A skull and bone house please no feign of shock
Resting a place following the charnel house of life
Layered guests welcomed from past time be it husband or wife
No names all lost even an alias a Smith or Jones
Searching long enough I am sure to find my bones
black coffee in the sea,
with a thermos for a light house
reading house blend.
granular earth in the bread,
or at least in the pastry window
next to the register.
vegetarians sitting at tables in
a coffee shop parallel to a bookshelf
and a row of abstract paintings.
i could go over there for a little bit.
maybe make some light conversation and
talk about the weather.
or sit quietly by myself and do a mental
handwriting analysis of the barista's chalk board.
maybe look at all the polaroids of the regulars
and think about what i would wear if i was a regular.
still one space left, still a chance for me
to reach my southeast portland coffee house
bulletin board nirvana.
there i would remain tacked up on the wall for awhile,
a plad wearing black coffee drinking herbivore.
calm as can be in criss crossed shades
of blue and green.
Two convicts setting behind the legal Bars
How did you get in this dark dreary place of imperfection
Ambling on my way in pursuit of a Blessing I was railroaded within my own pages
Loud shot crying out what is my crime yelling shut up toe the Red line
So then I was sentenced without parole an indefinite detention
To the big house of Political Corrections judged by peers an obsession
So that’s is how I ended up in this dark dreary place of imperfection
Loud shot crying what is my crime yelling shut up toe the Red line
I also landed here in like manner standing boldly in streets
Petitioning for redress for I could not stand by idle
In the midst of all the corruption I lifted up my voice
Loud shot crying what is my crime yelling shut up toe the Red line
So then I was sentenced without parole an indefinite detention
To the big house of Political Corrections by executive orders decision
Loud shot crying out what is my crime yelling shut up toe the Red line
A loud whistle blows the choice is your says your God given right and the constitution
Loud shot crying out what is my crime yelling shut up toe the Red line
It's just a hose, you'll be okay
a place for you and me
you have a problem, you cannot explain
we will try to make you sane
come on in and sit down
be comfortable, stay awhile
don't mind the smell of
fresh paint
pills
urine
blood and sweat
you'll get use to it
don't be troubled by the locks
the restraints on your bed
the bars across your window
spilling slanted broken rays
shimmering on the ground
it's just a house
we have breakfest lunch dinner
here you go have an apple
here you go, take your meds
it's just a house
trouble only
leads you to discipline
to correct what sins you committed
it's just a house
a routine of
awake
work
sleep
repeat
A house with the realization of
of what? Nothing! Be Quiet!
you checked in you cannot leave
it's just a house
if you run away dear, we will
find you. The Warden is your father
your friend, your GOD
you should be thankful for you
pills, food, EST
Fizz, BOOMB goes your head
as the currents fly through
skull and flesh
down
down
down
down
through your body
changing you, moving you
are you, you anymore?
it's just a house
it hasn't changed
it's still the place of haunting
screams of pain and agony
love is gone when Daddy is home
oyu love him don't you?
You Should!
It's just a house
when you finally leave or will you?
it leaves a lasting effect
you are chagned
independent
you
move on, come back to society
but don't come back to us
not even for a visit or some
tea time
it's just a house
was it really?
