Lacing up my hiking boots
A backpack full of supplies
Heading out on a new trail head
As the sun just starts to rise
Switchbacks up the mountain trail
Waterfalls at which I stop
Six thousand feet of elevation gain
Before I reach the top
Splash fresh water upon my face
Enjoy the flora along the trails
Rejuvenating my inner soul
This exhilaration never fails
Approach the apex of the mountain
As the sun reaches its summit in the sky
Looking over miles of God’s green earth
Puts a teardrop in my eye
I love each day I can spend this way
Enjoying life in this particular fashion
Hiking trails through the wilderness
Is my enriching passion
Fables of fairytales, where everyone
Lived happily ever after.
So they said that all we needed
Was the love and laughter.
It put to mind, a place
That has never exist.
A prince charming who
I have never kissed.
It never rains because
The sun always shines.
And you can partake the
Fruit sweet off the vines.
All though, the thought was
One too good to concieve,
We all have at one time
Wanted to believe.
A place in the sun where
The sky is bright and clear.
A place much better than here.
A place where there is no sadness.
A place somewhere outside
All the madness.
Where life flows in a
Peaceful way,
And if we could go there
We would stay.

The only eyes I see in the mirror are my own..
A chasing step through a dark forest to my way home..
A welcome glimpse into the sun where Angels play all day..
I shout out my words and blow a kiss to some with wings frayed..
My white jacket is a little off color and tainted with shades of blue..
It was so easy to run and cry in the rain, my tears blended and never true..
I will just wink my eye and wave goodbye,"see you on the other side".
When all is said and confirmed, hope to be in that sun and on a steady ride..
