Sangria (Song Parody)

Sangria… Fruity wine with a hint of alcohol Sangria Sangria Sangria Sangria A tutti fruity wine with hardly any kick at all Sangria Sangria Sangria Sangria Sangria! I’ve just had a glass of Sangria And I don’t feel a thing It doesn’t have the zing I need Sangria! I’ve just added gin to Sangria And suddenly I’m high I feel like I can fly With speed! Sangria Gulp it down and you will be stinking! Sip it once and you’ll find yourself thinking Sangria I’ll never stop drinking Sangria Fruity wine with a hint of alcohol Sangria Parody of "Maria" from "West Side Story" Maria . . . (sings) The most beautiful sound I ever heard: Maria, Maria, Maria, Maria . . . All the beautiful sounds of the world in a single word . . Maria, Maria, Maria, Maria . . . Maria! I've just met a girl named Maria, And suddenly that name Will never be the same To me. Maria! I've just kissed a girl named Maria, And suddenly I've found How wonderful a sound Can be! Maria! Say it loud and there's music playing, Say it soft and it's almost like praying. Maria, I'll never stop saying Maria! The most beautiful sound I ever heard. Maria.

LOL! I knew exactly which song you had used for your parody even before I read your information at the bottom of the page. This is so funny, Corinne. It almost made me want to start drinking...Sangria and Gin. But then, again, I haven't had alcoholic drinks since those long ago younger days. Love the Song, though! Smiles, Dane Ann

Oh, this is a delight, Corrine! Your great poem moves beautifully with the music and has a witty "taste" to it. I had a difficult time with my Sondheim song; had never heard it before and it seemed to have no real melody. You did a terrific job! This one should rank high in the contest. Love, Carolyn
