Christmas Eve
"Twas the night before Christmas".
House is crowded, noisy, and warm. No wise
Men from the east; but our children and their
Children are gathered for gifts and a gumbo feast.
"Twas the night before Christmas".
Near the green tree is the place to be.
The gumbo is the Christmas meal, and
Everyone agrees, it's a deal of a meal.
"Twas the night before Christmas".
Rice, crab, shrimp, sausage, chicken;
Well-seasoned and all-you-can-eat.
Keeps us warm inside. A real treat.
"Twas the night before Christmas".
The night that we celebrate Christmas.
By midnight, all is calm; the kids are gone.
Christmas day? My bride and I are home alone.
