Marvin Bell Biography | Poet

He wrote notable books of poems called "The Book of the Dead Man" and "Ardor: The Book of the Dead Man, Vol. 2." He also taught for many years at the Iowa Writers' Workshop where he is an emeritus faculty member. He has written 16 books of poetry.

Bell was born in New York City. He earned his bachelor's degree from Alfred University, master's degree from the University of Chicago, and MFA from the University of Iowa.
