My Vietnam - Lyrics by William Hill

Lyrics

This is my vietnam, a place where words replace bombs.
Our souls have been scattered.
Our shelters been shattered.
Broken and beaten, so we seem to be battered.
Now i've got to struggle, but i know i will strive.
And I'll carry you with me until I'm not alive.

Chorus:
This is my vietnam.
Where words replace bombs.
Souls have been scattered.
Shelters are shattered.
Losing the battle we have been battered.
Life is struggle, but i will survive.
And I'll carry you with me until i'm not alive.

It's that look on your face.
It's missing this place.
It's pleading my case.
It's leaving a trace.
It's about trying to survive.
Lonely as i am
i'll carry you with me
until i'm not alive.

Chorus:(x's 2)
This is my vietnam.
Where words replace bombs.
Souls have been scattered.
Shelters are shattered.
Losing the battle we have been battered.
Life is struggle, but i will survive.
And I'll carry you with me until i'm not alive.

Bridge: (x's 4) I want to survive. So i'll carry you with me
until i'm not alive

Chorus; (one time)
This is my vietnam.
Where words replace bombs.
Souls have been scattered.
Shelters are shattered.
Losing the battle we have been battered.
Life is struggle, but i will survive.
And I'll carry you with me until i'm not alive.

this song was written while i was deployed to Iraq. I dedicate it to my fiancee' and our three children, I love you Heather, Jadaen, Kyler, and the bun in the oven. It is also dedicated to my mother, my brother, my father and my dad. I love you all.
And how can i Forget my best friend Wayne Burnsworth, he is the best friend a guy could ever want. I miss you man, and Iraq was hell without you. Keep your head up and tell Brandon I love him too. My brothers, the three amigos(I was Chevy Chase and you were Martin Short). You to Mike and Bill. Family ties don't die, but they do sure as hell gone on long ass breaks. La Familia, don't forget about Omerta.
I love you all.
