One should not embellish or dress up Christianity: it has waged a war to thedeath against this higher type of man, it has excomminucated all thefundamental instincts of this type, it has distilled evil, the Evil One, outof these instincts - the strong human beings as the type ofreprehensibility, as the 'outcast'. Christianity has taken the side ofeverything weak, base, illconstituted, it has made an ideal out ofopposition to the preservation instincts of strong life; it has depraved thereason even of the intellectually strongest natures by teaching men to feelsupreme values of intellectuality as sinful, as misleading, as temptations
