Luis G. Dato Biography | Poet

Born in the Philippines on March 29, 1895, Luis Guevara Dato was a well-known poet, author, educator, and politician.

His poetry, which frequently captured the social and political climate of his age, is one of his most well-known contributions to Philippine literature. In addition to being a significant character in the literary world, Dato was also an advocate for the advancement of the Philippine educational system.

During his time in politics, he supported several reforms while serving in the Philippine House of Representatives.  Dato was honored for his dedication to literature, public service, and the advancement of Filipino culture throughout his life. He left a rich legacy in the arts and public service when he passed away on October 18, 1965.
