Khaqani or Khaghani (1121/1122, Shamakhi – 1190, Tabriz ) (Persian : ) was Persian poet. He was born in the historical region known as Shirvan (located now in present country of Azerbaijan ), under the Shirvanshah (a vassal of the Seljuq empire) and died in Tabriz, Iran .
