My Empty Plastic Smile
I woke up forlorn and hollow inside of me oh yes I was pretty darn melancholy I was funky blue and my glass was totally empty wanted to curl up into nothingness . . . I took my dismal self to the bathroom looking in the mirror I hated my hair why did it have to be so long and lanky and bone straight my eyes stared back at me blank I should cut it (my hair that is) get some curls and volume oh but I cannot do that my hair is my strength I really dislike my face today . . . I try on some different plastic smiles (lifeless) someone told me yesterday I looked like a barbie doll that's right- barbie with plastic bendable arms and legs promise I won't move 'cause I am stiff plastic not pliable plastic I want to kiss the person who invented hoodies this wooden excuse for a girl is planning on hiding in one with this river of hair and the hoodie I should be invisible to all and any conversation will be futile and a waste of your time oh that's just great dance class at 10- odd, I feel quite alive now . . . _________________________ February 26, 2018 Poetry/Free Verse/My Empty Plastic Smile Copyright Protected, ID 18-9985-72-01 All Rights Reserved.
