SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) Ping. Ping. Ping. Sounds flying around the universe. Radio telescope arrays scanning, Dancing, across the endlessness that Awaits us. The past, 1000 light years gone away, Searching. Flying in geometric patterns Against the heavens, waiting for a call from the Darkness of the sky. Are they out there? Ping. Ping. Ping. We search Looking for what, we are not sure. What is waiting out there to be found? We hope, Perhaps something will hear the ping, We will answer back. Ping. Ring. Ping. Is anyone there? Each night we chart ourselves into a Spatial array of instruments, measurements Of a trillion soaring star arrays. The blink of an eye and the heavens open up for us, What more can there be? Ping. Ping. Ping. Is it a question that we really want answered? What happens when the ping finally comes back? Ping. Ping. Ping. “We’re coming and we are hungry.”
