Why
Why And you still can hear her whining For she just can’t understand Why is she not being courted? No one’s asking for her hand It’s frustrating, she’s tired She would love now to commit Can an eligible human Drag her out of this dark pit? Is a woman not a treasure? Who dares to let her go to waste? He that can’t discern his privilege Absolutely has no taste I’m a woman, I have feelings, I have cravings, I have needs See my traits and see my features But excuse for now my deeds Yes I know, I’m not that easy I have hurt a man or two And so what? They were all weaklings And for me, those will not do They were nice, but they were boring They were sweet, but I needed more They were planning for a future But I’m a free spirit to the core I’m a woman, not a lady And I’ll always have my way You will not demand or rule me For with me that’s not okay It’s so you know, I want a partner Someone I can call my own But, honestly, I often wonder Why is it that I’m still alone?
