From My Heart
So sad and alone Here it is this life to which I've grown True love so long ago I was once shown How was I to have ever known That now I'm barely making it on my own I no longer have him to hold I feel the numbness it's so cold I'm way to young to feel quite this old I think back often to when we were sixteen And how I wish I could change so many things I remember how he promised me a ring Then in a moment in time playing a song to which the words he would sing And in a swift instant that moment destroyed everything He was trying so hard to convince himself, yet never had convinced me He wanted to believe That the love he had gave me was no longer meant to be He was so sensitive yet so strong Somehow I still knew with him I wouldn't go wrong But fate really did have cruel plans in store And had our feelings for each other hide and for years be ignored Here we are again With our love will we still pretend How will this all play out How will this end Will we be swept away Or remain torn apart These are questions are from my heart Can we make one more start These questions I ask everyday But I can't answer so my pain will stay At least for now it will remain Never forget but loosen up on the reigns of our past Let's show them that true love really does last
