Methinks that God would smile at this artful prospect, Yet, such an occurrence may make His Angels suspect! If His Angels protest, I shall plead my wish to God’s action, Whilst spoiling not to argue my case with all due passion! I am quite sure my plea may ruffle proper saintly tradition, But, I shall ask God’s indulgence and seek not His perdition! I know God granted an Irish soul’s plea for nips of Irish dew, And so, I am sure He’ll allow my “Bubbly” in Heaven’s pew! If my request meets with Almighty God’s just and fair favor, I’ll ask Him to join me in few stout nips of dew of Irish flavor!
