Memorial Park
You came to me today As I wandered the memorial park Looking for my father's brick Chilled, leaning into the vicious cold I dream of you one night The next day you make your intentions known I take it as a Cosmic sign that our fates will intertwine And so they do, though not as I expect This will be a harsh lesson I never had a lipstick kiss like yours I'll taste it for years - this is not hyperbole Fool on the Hill on the car radio You wear your Audrey Hepburn veneer I think you are drawn to me because you think I will see Your sadness and anger and vulnerability And love you wildly for all of it You want me to tell you that you are my Muse I’m consumed by dual thrills of illicitness and guilt I make you material You awaken a desire to possess you I let you manipulate me like the others You hate me for it Your father has a brick here too I don't know if you do
