Through My Eyes
If a smoke glass pane crossed between you and I, then would the light behind my eyes break through the silence in yours? For through the emerald forests, and across the fields of amber grain, I touched the dew of heaven as my hand wiped away the tears of your youth. And in the cradle of my heart I placed you as my jeweled diadem. From my breasts and loins, you were birthed in a world of dark splendor. The veil which shields the evening light, cloaked the harmony of my love. Through the tempests and thundering skies, your journey was fraught with a task of never-ending battles and scars. As ancient as the days of old, my saddened eyes looked upon your scars and tears. When the emerald forests gave way to the majesty of the azure waters, and when the discord of the cries of the waves hit the pebbled rocks, my heart sought solace for my jeweled diadem. For you are not born of ordinary stance, but by right of the stars of heaven, your name was forevermore known by the constellations. You are the very child of destiny, and upon your shoulders the hopes and dreams of your people ride to the shores of Valhalla. So, sleep my child and climb the steeps of the highest mountains, for I give to you the plains, the valleys, and the snowy caps of every fortress of solitude. You are the jeweled apple of my own eyes.
