Being 59
Being 59 How are you going to tell her? Fired again by a 30 something? Don’t you know your profession? How can you forget a whole profession? No, you didn’t forget it. It’s the way you do it. You piss off the young You are old…vulnerable to the virus of disdain. Here she comes, Avoid her and don’t make her cook Eat cheese and crackers and Cheerios for dinner. Is that saving money or self-flagellation? Who cares, it’s healthy. Your life is going nowhere, Go have a beer on the porch. See the blurry stars through the screen. How do you connect those? Is that the screen or the natural dimming of older eyeballs? Beer thoughts incoming/--/connecting to the other screen: Can’t do the technology, Like the others, Know the steps, Or become, Sequentially dumb. And think. Too many unanswered questions. You can do this some other way, What other way? Remember the Russian woman who broke up with you in your twenties? Who said, “There’s a lid for every pot.” “Was she talking about a job?” I think She meant someone will love you, or someone will take you in. Who cares, it’s healthy. Eat the meal, go to bed.
