My Heart Aches For You
MY HEART ACHES FOR YOU by JOHN M. ARRIBAS By now, you may have forgotten me Yet every where I look, it’s you I see Never to see you again, my nightmarish plight So I visit our old haunts, night after night In hopes you’ve returned to fulfill my dream You and I together, anew, my hope filled scheme Friends encourage me to find someone new But, day after day, my heart pines for you I still frequent the place, where we first met Love was in the air, romance in bloom, and yet I silent, hiding my feelings day after day Remained muted, when I had so much to say That, I idolized you: and wanted you for my own Being near you gave me feelings I’d never known I might find those moments with someone new But, day after day, my heart yearns for you I gather with our friends, they speak of you Unaware of the anguish, I’m going through Remaining silent doomed me to quiet reveries Imaginary moments, together, anxious to please Wonder if she ever thought of me as her lover She beguiled my senses, I may never recover I might find peace with someone new But, day after day, my heart aches for you
