Hope Should Never Die
This girl has reached too early the terminal Her tender lungs are struck by cancer fatal The drowsy eyes decline to close the petal Lest she drifts slowly to the lap of sleep final And on her beautiful world the curtains fall. She knows the reality as clear as the daylight Her tender lungs are struck by cancer fatal. In feeble breath she tells the lungs, let’s fight. Almost losing the battle she tells her mother After my lungs stop to give me anymore air Freeze me in a dark chamber somewhere near The way you kept me in your womb with care I’ll hibernate and wait as your unborn daughter Till they find the cure for cancer, I’ll then return After my lungs stop to give me anymore air Live again in this beautiful world so much I yearn. Hope should never die in threats even terminal. November 4, 2017.
