There Comes a Time
comes a time old woman sat upright in her favourite chair at attention, somehow waiting. the window before her seemed to shimmer like the magic mirror in sleeping beauty. what incantations were being cast across the invisible space between she and the approaching winter they had been lovers for all her years. now it was difficult to tell. for time unending she had welcomed him with open arms and open heart but winter, north of the 49th took no prisoners, even for a love of such long standing. the winter saw nought but flaming red hair and a heat that brought him to his knees. quiet she sat mesmerized as he shuffled through the leaves the exchange was made this was not the year ’though her face had aged her back was slightly bent she loved with all her youthful passion and that was enough for winter.
