A Better Me
It's now October, the time of year between heat and cold when clocks fall back in Autumn. I am happiest with me if by 6 AM, I am able to greet the dawn. I am an achiever of the highest kind when I say, "Good morning sunrise"!. I tell you, there is a mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual therapy. It's so divine; the likes of which I have not found anywhere else on planet earth. How awesome this rising sun who dares to bother, and to better the life of me. If I can thank God and be seated at my favorite spot before the rising sun; if a cup of coffee fills one hand and my Bible fills the other; If I am fortunate enough to capture the power of 'the quiet' before I make a single utter; If blessed to achieve such a feat; better prepared to advance and not retreat; Then, I am a candidate for victory and not defeat. I think that is when I have shaken hands with 'the stillness', and embraced a better me. 12162017 Poetry Soup, Third Contest, Morning Ritual, Line Gauthier, HM; Second Contest 11/27/17, Couplet Oct-Nov '17, Laura Loo; First Posted 10112017, First Contest, October Standard, Strand
