Remembrance 2017
Remembrance day is here again The country pays it's respect The veterans eyes show his pain His head is bowed as he reflects It's not just about the great war Although this is where it started Many other conflicts, mainly abroad Remember those who have departed There are many servicemen on parade Marching with veterans who'd gone before A Solemn day not just a masquerade These guys and girls have been to war So tell your children what this day means It's not a carnival that it would appear Explain that it's about loss off life That it's OK to shed a tear Remembrance day must live on The story of the poppy retold One day those soldiers will be gone The poppy emblem will be sold I hope that this never occurs And our youth will keep it strong I hope you read this and concur Our history does belong So this Sunday 11th of November Go outside and see them march past This is the time we remember Fallen from the beginning to the last From flanders fields to desert plains These veterans deserve our praise Our freedom is what was gained As they walked through the smoke and haze The younger veteran has also done his share This we cannot forget His actions in war he must bare Thier stories untold as yet When they are told you'll be amazed At what they have seen and done Opium plantations set ablaze Your freedom and life he won
