Umbrella
It's been raining so long I can't remember Where summer went And if it was well spent The clocks are about to be put back For daylight saving And the leaves dropping to the paving Are a sign of decline Like the hour's of day But come what may The rain won't stop Despite the winter malaise In Matt canvassed greys That make me wish I could hibernate till spring Because the cold stings Each more than the last As I am resigned to next year More of the same When i am 1 year older And worn-out grumpier In my Christmas jumper Stuck wet to my heart 1 year but still not gone It can't rain all the time But in my day's of life It's the only thing consistent Persistent to the point Thought I am changing And getting older I walk under an umbrella Walking on with hope in my heart That droughts and sun burnt famine deserts Dream of me My simple woes of sorrow
