On the Banks of a Woodland Stream
On the grassy banks of a woodland stream I heard the melodic warbling of birds in flight as I basked in the warmth of sunlight's gleam where oaks and maples reached great height I heard the melodic warbling of birds in flight A breeze whispered to me on that day in Fall where oaks and maples reached great height It called her name, Adrianne; a love I recall A breeze whispered to me on that day in Fall Each waft held fragrance of her jasmine hair It called her name, Adrianne, a love I recall I walked this winding path with my lady fair Each waft held fragrance of her jasmine hair She was in my arms again, as we swayed I walked this winding path with my lady fair Sweet memories of Adrianne will never fade. She was in my arms again, as we swayed. As I basked in the warmth of sunlight's gleam, Sweet memories of Adrianne will never fade On the grassy banks of a woodland stream. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ October 6th, 2017 Write Me A Pantoum Contest Sponsor: Kim Rodriguez
