The Long Walk Home
The long walk home (or not) As I strap my boots and put on my coat A lump develops in my throat The long walk home ahead Is hopefully going to sort out my head Turmoil at every turn My fuse wire ready to burn Look outside and rain is pouring The rain pouring into my office, wetting my flooring Wishy washy, here we go On I go through this hell hole A five mile walk of mental pain It’s hard when you are borderline insane Control your thoughts and reason with doubt And try and avoid the childlike pout That infects your sole Just Like a black hole Sucking every bit of positivity Resulting in constant negativity Half way home and still no change Is there anyway to stop this pain Traffic passes by like shooting stars in the night Startling me and causing a fright Should I end it now by walking into the traffic And make sure it’s not a holographic, Projection of my thoughts at this time Could this be a life line Sent down from a power above Hopefully I am not seeing this dove That flys above my head Am I dreaming? Am I laying on my bed? Traffic has stopped all around me My sole is leaving my body and I finally fell free Looking down all I can see Is the body that was once me I’m keen to know how this walk home has really played out But, Im a little bit insane! so you can count my opinion out…
