Will You Ever Stop Putting Up the Bricks
“Do you like him?” She glances at the boy across the room with her lips curling into a small smile. The boy who managed to trigger her attention. But that smile of her, there’s something about that smile. It’s sincere yet it’s somehow sad. It’s broken and wrecked. Just like her heart. “I don’t know. I’m confused.” She sighs to herself and looks away from those pair of dark black eyes hidden beneath his glasses. She is torn between her past and the present. A part of her wants to embrace love while another part of her keeps pulling her back, reminding how love hurts her back then. She is constantly reminded of what someone did to her that molds the woman she is today. “Find the answer yourself.” With a gentle shake of her head, she looks at her friend and smiles. “Well then, I do not like him” and just like that she continues putting up the bricks to the wall she has been building for a while. A wall she came up with when she was left broken and hurt. It was almost complete so she decided to continue putting up the concrete walls. Just like that, she pushes love away from her wrecked wounded heart. She needs time, more time to heal before choosing to open again. via 2 AM thoughts.
