Then, I picked dingy ferns and thickets coiled by reeds, Merrily laughing past waters, unclear… Till Mom and Dad yelled from the gate, " Joey , clean up...” O kids’ games of bubble-pop hastened my blush. Then soft winds crooned among the trees Where only spellbound laughter can recall This dreamy , whimsical atmosphere: A time to reel, To cherish the frolic during the heat of summer glee Which spangled my boyhood sprees aloft!
