Clickety Clack
Trains pass routinely, clickety clack on the railroad track The rhythm is soothing, and familiar, and offers sleep If you think about it, the people, their stories You could imagine a world more exciting than real A man with a rucksack, is he hiking or running Does his hat offer warmth or camouflage Long is his journey ? Or just the next stop The lady with a suitcase, is travelling or working Take a look at her shoes, heels worn down money poor As the platform clears and he is sat all alone He buys a ticket destination unknown Creating a story now all of his own His heart beats faster as the train pulls from the station No way back, clickety clack,he’s running, he’s leaving As the miles become many his fear retreats it’s too late for a change of mind
