The Last Rituals 1
Hello friends I am coming back after a long gap during which many things happened. I lost my dear wife Shashi in July 2017 who was ill for the last few months. She was not only my life partner but was my inspiration who helped me a lot to write & compose poetry, songs & music etc. The Poem is a small homage to my dear wife Shashi. It was written immediately after her death but it’s first part was completed a little later which I am placing here today. The second part would be placed a little later because of Ash ceremony which we completed later at Rishikesh in the Holy water of River Ganges. Few days before her death I had sent my Premium Membership bank draft of US $64.00 as two years subscription by Registered Post to Poetry Soup but they have neither accepted it nor have they returned the draft to me. As such I cannot write any blog etc. Love & best wishes The last rituals When life flew away from her Her body became an abode Of lasting peace and Of calm and quietness Those moments had made her face blooming With a permanent smile Which was resting On her sweet pleasing face Like the Lotus blooms and rest on ponds water And spread its eternal beauty To make everyone believe That she is in the hands of God Where peace and divine silence exists Where the soul gets its ultimate solace and rest. 01 Her kind loving eyes were closed But her face was still alive With a divine glory It was the strangest expression I have never witnessed Ever in my life On any living or departed soul As she had the satisfaction That her life partner And all her dear ones Were always there with her Very close to her body, heart and soul And still they were with her In the hours of her pains and sufferings All the time till her very last. 02 The stiffness of her hands and leg muscles Which often used to come to give her unbearable pains Had gone for ever Like the last departed rays of Sun Which goes beyond the horizons Leaving her intoxicating golden rays Similarly she was fully free now From the burden of heavy breaths Light and free From all bondages and pains Everything in her became light and free Making her hands and body Soft and smooth like the red velvet Bilboti It seemed to me as if She was in deep sound sleep In those moments And she would wake up soon With her evergreen sweet smile And good morning Which used to shine every morning On her kind and loving face. 03 ....
