Trust
A mother holds her infant to her breast, sucking safely; all fears get laid to rest. A primal link bonds a mother and child; a sharing of hearts, instinctive and wild. A soldier huddles in the stench of death, determined to fight to his final breath. For lives count on his bravery today, and despite his fears, he's resigned to stay. A dad encourages his toddler son, holding his hands till that first step is won. And with arms outstretched, he coaches him on as he waddles forth, inhibitions gone. A virgin bride feeling anxious inside indulges temptations she's long denied. And in their bed, she surrenders her will to her husband and love's intimate thrill. A common thread stitches these souls in place, an instinctive bond that time can't erase. Believe what you will, and think what you must, but the human heart, has evolved through trust.
