The Blue Tail Lizard
I stepped out of the house and walked across the tracks And hurried to the supermarket to get a quick snack Cars were running up and down the street and I could still feel my anxious heart beat The temperature had subsided and the afternoon was divided I was somewhat disappointed but not elated A compromising spirit overshadowed me and wounded my dignity Hardly anyone was walking around frustration and fear have embattled the environment forcing some to lock up inside and peep behind curtains The community was having a festival but the mood was somber and strained Everything looked bleak and sadness perfumed the fragile street A sense of disconnect and unwelcome ness penetrated the air But I entered the supermarket without a feeling of despair The stalker in the parking has changed his red cap to an orange cap As I approached he dodged behind the outer column while I passed on the interior The parking lot was a bit crowded but had little to do with the customers Shoppers moved about to fro but some did not have anywhere to go I grabbed a loaf of bread and a tin of corn and I rushed outside and crossed the road to the other side Suddenly the police raced up the street as if they got a urgent call I stood on the side walk and gazed at the pink flowers hanging over They lined the top and bottom of the street absorbing the strange heat They too have a story to tell and they will tell it very well Looking from a distant they looked like cherry blossom but close up they are summer flowers not Spring flowers I ended this curiosity and continue to walk towards my home As I stepped on the side walk I saw something colorful ran from the house and buried itself in the grass in front of me I felt a bit odd but not stupefied I stared at the grass but there was no movement I stomped at the side and a blue tail lizard with the golden stripes emerged and glanced at me than crawled away. The blue tail lizard had a message for me But and I don't know what it wants to tell me.
