One Last Kiss
*This is an entry for the contest: ‘She sits alone’, Sponsored by Eve Roper. *The poem is required to be written to go with the painting Eve painted. One last kiss She rests in the moment of deep thoughts filled with peace Her long eye lashes shut, to feel everything in her heart increase Finally, she has found her love, as if the skies opened up for her With delicate braided hair, the rest free flowing, her soul does stir With an awakening that greets her, as she sits in calm silence She imagines holding his hand forever, such tender guidance His gentle touch was always savored deep within her mind She knows there is nothing more out there for her to find She is no longer alone, as the golden sun rises upon her today She hears his footsteps coming closer, as he approaches her way She is relaxed and content as she feels the warmth on her face She sighs with slightly parted lips, in this peaceful, quiet, place She is ready to embrace him, while she is surely not to miss His welcomed return to her, always as if it is …one last kiss Heidi Sands 8/4/17 *Placed 1st in Contest: She sits alone/to go with Eve's painting
