Sisters
Sisters©2013 Written By Lewis, Y.K My sister and I are like two peas in a pod in a Texas twister, sisters born one year, one month, and a day apart we were also 7lbs. 10oz. Born so close together how could we be so far apart. Our relationship is a typical one and on the contrary it’s filled with strife and love similar to the Texas weather. It can be beautiful and calm but in the blink of an eye it could be dangerous. A day in our lives is like a morning filled with the sweet scent of dew that has fallen upon each blade of grass which glistens in the early sunrise hearing Blue Jays singing in the distance while feeling a gentle breeze upon our faces and seeing the wind sway serenely through the fields of grasses with kind words spoken throughout. However, just like Texas weather our relationship can be unpredictable with a misplaced word it can lead to disaster with the smell of rain approaching eventually ending up in a thunderstorm with our voices rising like the rumbling roar of thunder, we clash like the sound of lightening while our voices strike each other like hail hitting the ground. The skies darken with hues of ebony, black and blue the wind picks up speed rustling through the treetops being thrashed violently together as the storm continues to rage on. Hearing the low heavy rolling sound when thunder growls in the distant skies and the lightening bids her last farewell with one burst of energy before fading off in the distant. In spite of the storm the clouds always clear to reveal a rainbow. My sister and I.
