If you condemn the leaders of the Confederacy and remove their monuments, remember that our country's Founding Fathers were also rebels and traitors in their day. Right or wrong, the Southern Confederacy was also made up of Americans who fought for their beliefs, just as the patriots of 1776. And if you believe that the Confederate flag represents slavery, remember it only existed for 5 years, while slavery existed under the Stars and Stripes for 75 years before 1861! Which is the REAL Rebel flag? I wrote this for a contest on another site. I'm NOT trying to be controversial and do not have feelings one way or the other. Just stating fact.
