Moth Or Flame Part Two
Undisciplined youth The most vulnerable as they came Hold on tight, now ive wondered Back to memory lane Why not, while i try to understand why Destiny is so very strange (Years 1-10) Started when i learned i was born from shame Parents cared enough, but struggled all the same Not strong enough were they after they had given me my name One left the other So history tore through Repeating as i came Addiction bled through A passage etching Sketching and nonrelenting Used as a scapegoat to pour out all their pain I collected and harvested Like bruce banner i kept in the rage Of an alcoholic parent And sundering marriage of anothers family violent in there ways So at the age of 10, war was set in my days Carried the weight through even as i came of age Years 11-17 Kept as much as i could inside me So the beast would remain caged Growing older didnt help Was like a cloud of darkness rolled in Telling me everyone was in for themselves All i wanted was a peace of mind and nothing else To grow to love life And in my daily toil love its strife All that i saw on my way was heartbreak Watching others either fall into love Or into a final heartache Their spirit whispered to my spirit that i would eventually break Havent yet but im beginning to crack Because hope seems is sticking to a stake
