My Estranged Lover
Had time be for leisure, The orchard's shade shall serve its purpose. Were it be for the stretches of time - Our loins shall melt in rhythm. Had she be forgiven, this moment, For despair soothes her skin - Like the camwood that greases Ezemma's. Ezemma; a god sent among all. Such candour her elegance gives! Shall I stand this? Can I hold this pressure? What a miasma! Evil lurks! Negligence over spirituality! Awkwardness springs! My brass to wear, my cross to bear This season isn't the best to sip the finnest! The spirit of the elders have come to sprint, Round the iroko tree, death dangles like pendulum Our friend has come to stay - for whose wish? I care not for! Is it the strength we put on fold or hold? Has it grace her essence in my lair? Does it give strength to the hyenas on leash? A wonder, I ponder! A raven born, sibyl thrown to Sahara. Distance birth envy, Irks me soul, tears away ; Veil of years unborn! The flow comes from this hy- Men! The flow sweetens my spirit but I fear the cradle Trauma of feelings grow within the spirit! The sticky smells savours my dignity, My estranged lover grows within my wall... For in her comfort, I find peace, In her anger, I see beauty - Shackles of past holds fort, Whose fort shall bear this cross? Whose fort can give brass? The strength of the veil, Births my estrangement.
