Night Sky
How far are the stars from Jupiter's moons? My grand-daughter asks while holding my hand. As far as your dreams without feathered plumes, When you fly in the skies of wonderland. Our quiet gaze upon the Milky Way, As we stand on a small planet of blue. Mars and Venus are in cosmic display, As they appear bright near the moon in view. She asks of Pluto and how far away. Never to be seen in the blackest sky. Made of cold rock and not gases or clay. Her question simple, she wants to know why. To see the night sky with eyes of wonder. This shinning universe we stand under. 5/3/17 Contest The Night Sky Sonnets Only words..stars, Jupiter,Milky Way, planet, Mars, Venus, moon, Pluto, shinning
