Three Score and Ten
I've done my time past sixty nine, I've reached three score and ten. I've seen a lot but not as much as some, What I see makes them look quite glum. Their aches and pains and wobbly walk, The tablets and potions make me gawk. They seem to keep the chemist shop in business with the pills they pop. Allergies here and coughs galore, can't do that it makes me sore. Need to wear special footwear, Because if I don't my hip will flare. Mustn't forget to go to my session, it helps with my bouts of depression. You should try this lotion on your skin, to help stop it from going wafer thin. I hear all this and in my mind wonder, If I took notice I would soon go under. I take my vitamins and a couple of tabs, When winter comes round I have my jabs. So I look in the mirror, and smile at me. I say to myself your looking good for Seventy. © Dave Timperley 10 April 2017
