My Ode To the Dearest Angel
We glorify people who are saints, heroes, geniuses or common folks who simply show us their human side by being meek, never showing any pride. There was such a wonderful, devoted person I greatly admired who helped me build a strong but humble character, and preaching about God, I learned the first prayer; she empowered me with a will to overcome things vainly desired. It's my ode to the dearest angel who showed me the easiest way to Heaven: climbing those golden steps to discover divine light; blessed be your maternal womb that gave me such a long life, and the inner courage to challenge harsh fate without mire! I sailed on ships on windy oceans, but safely returned to my bay; I walked on dangerous paths always being aware of a hidden blight. It would have been my greatest joy to have seen you and dad walking together, but he only sought carnal pleasures and went bad: to lose a soul to temptation is easy, to save it is nearly impossible. He made vows and kept none and hurting you, he hurt me as well, and instead of hating him, we ran to church at the stroke of that bell; he wondered what was the secret that kept us close and indivisible! It's my ode to the dearest angel who praises God above earth and clouds, If I can't weep, it's because these tears have run dry; this gladness overflows knowing that loneliness is not defined by the lack of closeness and hugs: it's the loving thought of preserving the memory of a mom I honor with words.
