Little Ducky
little ducky here i am submerged in my thoughts about a lone duck in a pond first, why is she by herself second, why didn't she eat the rice, or bread i think, i think what a life what a habitat ... here she is in a pond, with a waterfall, mind you on the grounds of a hotel can it be so bad? or is this not a safe haven, sheltered from the elements harms way, predators obviously this is the good life or is it? i look at the duck, so content in it's own little world swimming in circles without a quack, or playmate it was like looking in the mirror i see workers leaving food how nice what got me is little duckie is so human in the pond i see leftover bread, rice, noodles, crackers all snacks that workers brought i see duckie ignoring the usual foods and swims over to the rock that held a black donut yes little duckie going for the sweets i don't blame her you only live once ... in one nibble she eats half uncanny, just like me chew her food? nope it was like ... gulp ... uncanny, just like me ... uncanny i found a moment in time that touches my heart it feels good connie pachecho 3/18/17
