Let It Out
I closed my eyes. A long time has passed Since i saw It. I unchained the door. Opened the countless locks. Broke the last seal. Took a deep breath. Pushed open the heavy door. Dust everywhere, jumping in confusion by the sudden gust of fresh air. A slice of light peering into the darkness as the door opened. It stared at me, its eyes glowing like tiny embers in the dark. I had nothing to say to It. But It understood. More Dust fell as It rose up to full size, slowly heading for the door. It was still bigger than me. Despite all the time spent here. I frowned. All these year I shut It away. Willingly. I did so for my own good. For the sake of the ones I cared about. It hurt them too much already. But without It... Without It I could be happy. And I was. Yet I never imagined such emptiness. It covered its dimmed eyes as It stepped out. The light was reflected by its claws, still as sharp as they have ever been. I looked at It in disgust as It shook of the dirt, revealing its magnificent black wings. I never wondered if It was angry. I knew It was. But It knew well to hide it. For now. Suddenly It let out a roar so loud that the whole place trembled. … or was it just me trembling? It stepped uncomfortably close to me. Its eyes fixated on me with a stare penetrating into the depth of my soul. Staring, as if asking me if I was sure of my decision. I wasn't. Yet I was still determined to give It a chance, To Let It out. It smirked, fully aware of all my thoughts. The fire in its eyes blazed anew. Then It transformed. Retracted its wings and sharp claws. Lost its horns and pointy teeth. It almost looked human. And I swore I would tame It. I opened my eyes again and looked at my new self. I finally felt whole again.
